In addition to all of the above, we hope to have some very (and we mean VERY!) exciting vehicle news coming your way soon. If you thought that the return of MLK550L to the road was great, stay tuned!
Things have been a bit quiet for us lately but our show season is now in full swing and we are busy most weekends in June and July. Coupled to this we have been having a sort out at HQ with all the bits to turn 7041 back in to a bus. Sometimes 'housekeeping' duties like sorting out the storage and spares can take more time than getting the buses MOTd and on the road.... BUT it's just as important as any MOT. Without spares and archives we would have no way of keeping the buses on the road. An organised and well stocked stores is the framework that holds the collection together. It's still not as organised at we'd like but it's heading in the right direction.
In addition to all of the above, we hope to have some very (and we mean VERY!) exciting vehicle news coming your way soon. If you thought that the return of MLK550L to the road was great, stay tuned!

Unfortunately Paul's bus DMS550 has been experiencing some fuel problems lately resulting in fuel starvation and a breakdown. It was discovered that the sediment catcher was full of sludge which was obviously blocking the fuel lines. Paul cleared this and the fuel lines and he and Jake spent a afternoon bleeding the system and getting 550 running again. A further inspection revealed the sediment catcher to be full up with sludge AGAIN. This means the fuel tank is in need of a deep clean out. 43 years of muck has obviously taken it's toll on the old girl! The logical thing to do is to drop the tank and clean it, however, here is the problem. Because of the tight parking at the garage, the fuel filler and tank are only accessible if 550 moves outside which is a bit of a bugger when you have to work on anything that will potentially disable it. The plan we came up with was to isolate the tank and divert the supply to a temporary tank inside the bus under the stairs. After a few niggles Paul and Jake managed to rig this up today so 550 can be moved around the depot whilst work on cleaning the main tank is carried out.
The Thanet Road Run page has been updated recently. We're hoping to catch up with the reports of our our shows we have attended too, however, work on 7041, 550 and various other fleet members has kind of taken president over general admin duties.
